Branding

A brand is defined as: A trademark or distinctive name identifying a product or a manufacturer and a product line so identified. Examples of brands include a variety of product-lines ranging from foodstuffs, fashion, electronics, and household products. Popular brands include: Nike, Eddie Bauer, Tide, Clorox, Apple, Microsoft etc.

What are the benefits of a brand? Why do brands sell better than just individual products? How would you describe a product-line? How is a product-line presented to the public?

  1. a brand has an entire company to back up any loss, and since the brand already has fame the buyers will most likely buy the name they already know.
a product lines are a series of products from a brand, that have a connection on design or functioning and are presented to the public as a wave of new products instead of just one

  2. The benefits of a brand are many! one people tend to get attached to a brand and only buy that one.Like sometimes you see "that guy" whose the nike guy all decked out in nike? also brands let people know who made the product and how trustworthy the product is. I would describe a product line as multiple products released as a group or line. a product line could be presented in a commercial, billboards or and number of advertiseing methods.

  3. benefits of brands sometimes make people who they are. You can be a certain way to someone, just by the brand of clothing you wear. You can fit in with a certain group because of wearing a certain brand. This is why they sell alot better than individual products. people want to wear something attached to a good brand name. Product lines are presented to the public by advertising mostly.

  4. I think some brands sell better because people know with a brand like Nike or Puma they will get a good quality product. Or with name brands like Oreo or Lays people know how the food is, not like it store brands. Name brands, especially like Nike or Apple have better distribution of their products, being available throughout the world. Name brands also have the advantage of having tons of ads, billboards, and commercials to show new products.

  5. The benefits of being a brand is that you are a big name company that a lot of people know about no matter what, you can make advertisement to get your product known out in the world. Brands usually sell better because more people have been exposed to these products way back in the day, and have stuck to them to present day all because they grew up with the product. A product line is a brand that holds or carry’s a variety of different products that around the same criteria or not, it’s the matter of how many different products which makes up a product line. Many people are exposed to a product line by a store or an individual store that only carry’s that one single brand or around the same area.

  6. There are lots of benefits of having a brand name. It gets their name out there for people to recognize. Brand names sell better than individual products because people talk about brand names, what would you call the ones that dont? What brand is that? Oh i don't know, it doesnt have one. So then they wouldnt know and would get less buisness. Oposed to like hollister, or any place at the mall. There are many different ways to present it to the public, such as commercials, online adds, newspapers & many more.
