Imagine that you are visiting a strange culture. Imagine these people have no art - especially no visual arts. How would you describe art to them? Remember they have no frame of reference - they have no idea what art is! What is art's purpose? Why do we create it? Why do we need it? What does art do for us?
Art is a way to express yourself on paper. We create art to make things look good. Art relaxes me. and it makes people think when they look at it. any art peice can be interpreted in any way.
ReplyDeleteart is the soul of an individual coming alive, expressed in sense to the eye`s of the beholder. arts purpose is self-expression and you create it through feeling and technique. art is a way to see inside a person and what others are thinking.
ReplyDeleteIt is a way for people to express their ideas through different outlets such as drawing or painting ,without being judged because art cant be defined as one thing, and can be whatevr you want it to be.
ReplyDeleteI would describe it to them by saying art is showing what you find beautiful or interesting and putting in down for others to see. The purpose of this is for interpritation, something to show emotion, and a way for others to see what you think about. The reason why we create it is because humans are all visual and like to see things beautiful and want to be able to look at things that others come up with. We create it to show are feelings. For these reasons, it makes art important to humans so we need these visuals. Art lets us have a point of view. It gives us a chance to show what we find intersting.
ReplyDeleteI would explain art as another way to free your mind. Arts purpose is a way to show people things without using words. We create art because art is beautiful and unique and its a way to put whats on your mind, on paper or in a photo. Everyone needs art because without art the world would be a plain place with no artistic talent. Art shows a different side of the artists and it shows the artists feelings and thoughts and their visual on different aspects.
ReplyDeleteI would describe art as a way to express your self in ways that are beautiful and different looking. It can be expressed through drawings, pictures, sculptures, paintings, and many more. We create it and need it to make the world full of wonders. woooooooooooop :p
ReplyDeleteI would try to show them the most famous pieces of art and tell them the meaning of it and how it was made. id try to break it down and show them that anyone can make are, out of anything. as long as you have a vision or some passion.
ReplyDeleteart is all around us! Everything is made from art, the structure of their buildings could show how they express themselves. If i was to explain what art is, I would say, its a way to express yourself through colors, shapes, and objects. There is no limit, art is limitless. The purpose in not only to entertain and to impress people of your mad skills, its to show your creativity and what youre all about in your head that you cant speek about only visually present. It keeps your culture in tact, and preserved for centeries to come.

ReplyDeleteEven if they're not aware what art is they still use it. Even if you're not trying to create art you do it anyways. Even if you're not the next Piccaso it's still art in some way, shape or form.
ReplyDeleteI don't exactly know how to explain art... I'd most likely just show them it by drawing something, or making something. Explain what it's about, the feelings & emotions. Arts purpose for me, is to heal from things. I don't make things just to make them - they usually come from something that's bothering me.
