Message Board Topic: Social Media and Art

How has "social media" (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, etc.) impacted art? How has social media allowed us to see more art?

Think about sites like DeviantArt. Are sites like this improving the quality of art being shown?

  2. social media has impacted art because there's a lot of people on these sites. this makes it easier to get your art known by just posting it online, and having a page other people can "like".

  6. i think social media is a good way to get your art shown for more people than you are able to show physically. you can post your art online for anyone in the world to see and you can get a ton of feed back and some constructive criticism.

  11. Sturgeons Law dictates that 90% of everything is terrible.

So now with so many sites that allow art to be posted, there has been an influx of "bad" art.

But that doesn't mean there isn't stuff out there that makes the 10% worth dying for
