Todd Siler is a cosmologist and theorist who has proposed a new way of looking at the human brain and the universe. He has developed a new, interdisciplinary field called neurocosmology which is based on his previous work: artscience (a field which combines art and science). Neurocosmology states that the brain and the universe are organized the same way – they have the same patterns. Below you can see an image of a mouse’s brain cell and a computer generated image of the universe. The similarities between the two images seems undeniable – the patterns are the same!
Why is this important? What do you think this means? How does seeing the image below seem to better justify Todd Siler’s theories?
This is important because it can help them justify the link between all the parts of the brain. Just like each planet revolves around one another in the galaxy, each part of the brain can revolve around each other as well. I think this means that maybe scientists can look more on how the galaxy acts, to figure out more about the brain. The two pictures justify Todd's theory because they really do look almost exactly alike.
ReplyDeleteI do see the similarities in the to images but i dont really know how it would help us. it might show that there might be some similar organization but how does that do anything for us.
ReplyDeletewow my mind is blown....
ReplyDeletei think this might be just luck because i dont see how this happen, on the other side this could have something to do with how electricity moves since our brain works with electric pulses and the universe is a giant battery moving around this could just mean that electricity moves in the same pattern at any scale
As far as I can tell, this could mean that all life is created in the image of the universe. All species have evolved over time, and as that has happened, we have gotten progressively closer to what is essentially perfect - the universe. Since there's nothing else that could possibly exist beyond the universe (as far as we know), it would make sense that other species would imitate them.
ReplyDeleteFrom a more nihilistic perspective, this could mean that the universe actually doesn't exist at all, and just exists in the minds of humans and animals. Who knows?
i definately think this portrays alot of signifigance. it obviously connects by the images, you can't easily deny something with the same exact patterns, the same exact paths, and the same exact movement. to me, i think this pertains to something with the existance possibly.
ReplyDeletepersonal update.... hmmm gonna take pictures for the surrealisim project soon... and nothing much besides that.
ReplyDeleteWOOOWWWW! Thats really interesting. i saw that movie avatar and the native people on that planet could like connect to the planet and talk to it. just makin connections. i think that this means it is possible that in each one of our brain cells there is another universe! and we are just in some things braincell!! and that thing is in a universe in something eleses brain cell!!!
ReplyDeleteI think that this is important because this connects with each other in a lot of ways and shows that both of these are similar in many ways. As you look at the picture it has many of the same lines and shapes it may lay out that there is a endless amount of space and thought through out your mind, and in the universe there is endless space and more can fit into space its basically on a time line and it happens is chronological order same with your mind. This better justifies his theory because as I stated above a lot of it shows the same characteristics in the picture in they are almost Identical. So this states that both of them play similar roles with each other , in the way that the mind can collaborate with each other to make a series of events in order.
ReplyDeletethe universe and the human brain i think are very a like, if you break it down its not so shocking, our brain is made up of tiny cells each cell has even smaller working parts, each of those tiny cells helps keep our brain working and healthy, and in the universe there are, so far only humans, but possibly billions of different things which all have to work together to keep the universe going each planet has some part in making the universe, "the universe"
