Photography has a confusing and complicated history. Photography’s origins lie within both science and art – perfected and developed by artists and scientists alike. With this said, what is photography? A science or an art? Make an argument for both a science and an art. Then decide if photography is predominantly more art or science.
making the camera and developing the pictures is the science. but the out come of the pictures, whats on them, is the art. a lot of people contributed to the foundation of developing pictures. these people probably thought of photography as more of a science because they were the ones that had to deal with the science aspect of photography. the reason why it is more of an art form now is because we dont have to do the science because others already did it for us.
ReplyDeleteI think it's both a science and an art. There are certain ways that make it both, since both of them is what created photography. I do think it's more art though, because that's mainly what photography is used for.
ReplyDeleteI say its a little bit of both really, theres no in between because it consisits of both in order to take photos. Its really a photo science if you think about it.
ReplyDeleteboth digital and film photography are consindered in my opinion science and art. I also think art and science are related as well, like mixing paints, and certian things to make certian colors.
ReplyDeletePhotography is a mix of art and science and many other things. It's art because it is people’s way of expressing themselves through photos. It's science because there are technical factors that go in to photography. For example dark rooms....Overall though I think it predominately art.
ReplyDeletePhotography is a science due to all of the mechanics and formuals and even mathmatical background to the creation of photography. It is also art due to the self-expression and creativity that is involved, how one picture can never be the same as another. Photography is predominatly an art form! (:
ReplyDeleteI couldn't choose art or science to lump photo into. Without science there would be no photo/art. But i consider photo as art almost more then anything, even though people may not. I think it's both, so i cant choose
ReplyDeletePhotography was made from a science but then transformed into an art. It has more of an art aspect now but before it was all about the science. Nobody now a days really worries about the science aspect or how every little part of the carmera work. Now everybody on God's green earth has one and half of them are brain dead and see a button on top of the camera and go "What is this for?" and click it. Therefore, creating a happy accident for the brain dead.
