Do appearances matter? As artists we are sensitive to the "look" of things. We are observers and we express the way we "see" things. Do you think artists are more judgmental or less judgmental when it comes to appearances? Why or why not?
when it comes to judgement among artist they judge harshly when it comes to art work. the reason why is because it is telling someone they can improve their work. but when it comes to judging people they are pretty fair. there are some people that will always only look at outer appearences but others can see beauty in other places besides the outside.
I think appearances matter to an extent. I think artists are less judgemental because they understand more that everyone has a different way of expressing themselves. Also, they could be more judgemental because they pay more attention to to the "look" of things.oh yaaaaaaa
I guess it depends on what your looking at, if the whole purpose of a piece of art is to sell something and you don't understand or like the look then being judgemental it understandable. but i consider myself as an artist and when i see a person for the first time i dont really care what they look like it matters how they act. there are alot of pretty people who are very ugly on the inside. so i think im judgemental when i need to be. or i keep it to myself
More judgmental. We're constantly in search of interesting objects to take pictures of. Models are always stunning. The older a building, or stucturally damaged, the cooler it looks. If you take a picture of a toaster heads on it will look ridiculous. Only certain looks matter to us though, such as how appealing the picture looks. It can be pretty, or ugly, or rusty. Apposed to society, who judges you based on your looks and how beautiful you look.
appereances matter in different circumstances and with different groups of people. artists sometimes do tend to be sensitive to the way that things look. i think that artists are depending on the situation more judgmental to apperances and at times less because art does not come with a set of rules.
i think they arent judgmental, they are just honest with what they see. and i think most artists are just as judgmental as anyother person.
ReplyDeleteI think artists are more judgmental because when they paint, draw or take photos what matters to them is how it looks.
ReplyDeleteYes to some people, no to others. I don't think it matters if you're an artist or not, anyone can be extremely judgmental rather than not.
